Day One

Jesus, arms outstretched, reaches out to the people of Juliaca from a hill  at the end of the street the Anglican Mission of St. Mary Magdalene is  on.

The team presents a laptop to Padre Luis.

High on the agenda: Removing debris to make the mission courtyard safe for children.

The team wrestles a 400-pound concrete post from a shallow grave in a flower bed.

Rick Krupka and Craig Andres get busy clearing out an open area in the courtyard.

Craig's debris pile started growing quickly ....

... and by quitting time was a small mountain.

Physical labor at 12,500 feet takes a toll that requires frequent breathers.

Rick shows Kym how he can turn a small crack in the plaster in a complete facade failure.
